Are you looking for a great weight loss training program?
I’ve got a solution for you…hip hop dance. Not only can you loose weight right in the privacy of your own home, but you can also put on a show for all of your haters. Challenge yourself to do something you wouldn’t normally do in ways in which you wouldn’t normally do it. My suggestion? Do a quick 4 song rotation dance battle with a couple of your friends…or, by yourself if you suffer from a no rhythm complex!
While dancing may not seem like a traditional weight loss option, it gets real results. In order to loose weight it is recommended that you dance for at least 20 minutes at a time. So be sure to choose tunes that will keep your heartbeat elevated. If you don’t want your muscles to pay you back the next day for all the work you made them do, you should do a 5 minute warm up and a 5 minute cool down before and after you hit those dance moves.
If you’re looking to add some fun, try making it a little workout party. Invite a couple of your best guy or girl friends over and spice things up a bit by making signature cocktails. There’s nothing like liquid courage to get your creative juices flowing.
A girls night dance off at my house would be more like a fun pole dancing class. There are no standards when it comes to dance workouts. You can cater your routine to whatever style fits your comfort level the most. Pole Dancing, Zumba, Salsa, African, or Hip Hop! As long as you get moving!
Want to take it a step further? Choose your own playlist and create a routine to do each week. Eventually, it will become second nature and that much easier to workout. If you aren’t much of a choreographer yourself, study some of your favorite artists’ dance routines and add your personal touch. If you’re bold enough, share your routine with others online. Who knows, you just might set a trend.
If you’re in need of some good workout tunes, vibe out to my personal favorite playlist, which includes a variety of songs to get you moving.
